Mexico City, August 3 – 6, 2011
THE INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOANALYTICAL STUDIES ORGANIZATION
announces its 21st
Congress,
to be held in conjunction with the
47th Congress of the
IPA
(INTERNATIONAL
PSYCHOANALYTICAL ASSOCIATION)
The Mexico Congress will be an
international celebration of the 100th anniversary of the IPA, the culmination of the local and regional
celebrations of 2010.
The overall topic of the joint
Congresses will be
EXPLORING
CORE CONCEPTS:
SEXUALITY,
DREAMS AND THE UNCONSCIOUS
The aim of this Congress is to explore core concepts such
as sexuality, dreams and unconscious in a way
that seeks to go beyond the
variety of models, cultures, traditions, training approaches and clinical
practices.
In addition, a second theme of the Congress will be discussing
"disruption and repair" which may occur both inside and outside
the consulting room.
These
concepts are horizontally shared by the whole psychoanalytic world and make our
culture unique
both for analysts in
training who first come in contact with the unconscious matter and for analysts
who have accumulated deep knowledge during
years of practicing.
